National Forest Wood Fair 2012

More woody, crafty inspiration at this annual show. There is certainly something for the whole nature loving family at Beacon Hill in Leics. Live music, great locally sourced food, storytelling from the green man, craft activities, lumberjack displays, plants, shire horses, bush craft and green wood workers galore all in a glorious open air setting with spectacular views.

Highlights for me were watching fire lighting skills with Steve Say from the woodland carpenters, check out their facebook page for courses in green wood working and bushcraft; and also greenwood artist, Spencer Jenkins’ beautiful woven conservatory furniture (image courtesy of Diane Waby Photography).
