Brief; To design a new terrace and planting to the front of the house, with its open aspect and long reaching views.

This south facing garden had a rectangular lawn and narrow borders in front of the house. The new design created a sweeping curved terrace for entertaining, stepping stones through the lawn and generous new borders to envelop the house in lush cottage style planting. These curves helped connect to the wider garden and landscape. Locally reclaimed sandstone was carefully sourced to match the existing paving and house.

Result; The clients are now enjoying a warm outdoor space after work, and the informal cottage style planting quickly has softened the stone work.
