Brief; Design a contemporary Family Garden with space to entertain, play and to rectify a partially installed patio which was causing flooding. Driveway solutions with storage for logs, bins and post.

Scope; Design, Project Manage Build & Plant

Working from a blank canvas after major building works, we designed a split level garden with a secluded entertaining terrace at the head of the garden. Outside the kitchen a patio has been installed without correct falls or drainage. As this was also a north facing space I reworked the space with planting and floating Millboard steps which would be both permeable and provide more interesting view. In the front garden a formal yew hedge was planted to define the pedestrian space from the vehicular, and used dark clay pavers to connect to the architectural style.

Result; A beautiful and practical garden with concealed storage, robust all year round planting and scope to continue developing over time.
