Derby

Brief; This property had previously acquired a large plot of land at the head of a small garden. The clients wanted to evaluate which of the existing trees to retain before designing a new layout. The wish list included a focal point from the kitchen, new hard landscaping, fencing, football space, garden office and planting.

Scope; Design only

Key to this design was linking the original garden to the larger space beyond on this fascinating, extended plot. We created a series of connected diagonal beds, and paths to draw the eye across the width of the narrower space. This provides interest in the foreground whilst still allowing glimpses of the garden in the distance.

The three metre long CorTen pond echoes the colour and style of the property. An understory of informal planting complement the renovated existing shrubs and trees.

Result; Clients were especially pleased by the cohesive planting design and improved flow to the wider garden.
